This window and door manufacturer required a fire alarm system for their new premises on an industrial estate in Yeovil.

The fire risk assessment advised that a fire alarm was installed

BUT...

After a site survey, it was discovered that the system was non-operational and not up to any fire standards.

The company’s management wished to have a new system installed to keep their staff safe so they contacted Ocean.

WHEN IS A FIRE ALARM NOT A FIRE ALARM?

When you move into a new building and see an existing fire alarm, you might assume that the correct equipment will have been installed so it will be compliant.

Sadly, not all fire alarm systems are compliant.

You may see a fire alarm in situ but it may not be a system that you can rely on to protect your staff, visitors, property and stock.

HONEYWELL FIRE ALARM SYSTEM

Ocean designed and specified a new fire alarm system for the customer.

We used our standard fire panel and equipment from Honeywell - the Morley DXC1 with system sensor devices.

Our engineer carried out the fire alarm installation to meet the current standards. The system was fully commissioned and the relevant documentation was raised upon completion of the works.

The system was demonstrated and a handover to the customer was carried out so they know how to operate the system correctly and to carry out the required weekly tests.
